Our Super Interesting History:
James West, a seasoned professional in the RV industry, has been a Certified Red Seal Master RV technician since 1999.
His expertise spans across 18 trades within the industry, making him a versatile and highly skilled professional.
His proficiency includes RV electrical systems, wiring, plumbing, propane, welding, and the installation of various components such as solar panels, hot water heaters, appliances, inverters, converters, batteries, entertainment systems, and much more.
He also specializes in carpentry, a skill that has proven invaluable in his line of work.
West’s journey in the RV industry began with four years of professional training in British Columbia, Canada.
This comprehensive training equipped him with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in various work settings, including RV dealerships, independent RV repair shops, and as a self-employed professional.
In 2014, after years of working in mediocre RV dealerships, James decided to take a leap of faith and opened his own RV Repair shop in Langley, BC Canada.
The shop, which he owned for five years, offered a variety of services, including RV repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
However, after experiencing a significant increase in small business taxes in Canada, James decided to explore opportunities elsewhere.
James and Teri applied for a small business work visa and decided to relocate their business to Las Vegas, Nevada.
The process was challenging, but they were thrilled when Homeland Security approved their application.
They successfully moved and set up their new shop in South Las Vegas, marking a new chapter in their professional journey.
In addition to running the repair shop, James and Teri also built their own personal tear drop trailer, a 13-foot travel trailer with a log cabin theme.
This trailer, equipped with every imaginable amenity, serves as a testament to their craftsmanship and attention to detail.
They have plans to reproduce replicas of this tear drop trailer, but with a vintage retro vibe, and in four very different styles. Our Retro Vintage teardrop trailers are inspired by the iconic designs of the mid-20th century, evoking a sense of wanderlust and adventure.

The people who run the shop are so kind. They helped me fix up my converted transit when my drawers broke. They squeezed me in immediately and even took the time to explain everything to me so that next time I'll be able to hopefully fix it on my own. I can't recommend this shop enough. Good people. James and his team were the best van outfitters I have ever worked with. Nothing but kind and professional and they were able to get me up and running after I damaged my van while on the road. They were so quick to get my parts ordered and into the shop and I was back on the road in just a couple days. They turned a horrible situation into a pleasant one and I am sincerely grateful.
We had some flooring replaced, a custom cabinet built and hung, and a dishwasher installed by Ace of Spades. We are so very happy with their workmanship. James handmade a cabinet where a tv used to be but was just a big gapping hole. The cabinet he made was spectacular! It matches our existing cabinets perfect and our cabinets have a lot of detail. I’m so impressed. Thank you James and Terri for making our Rig look so beautiful.

We just completed our first week of travel in our newly remodeled Montana 5th Wheel trailer. What a terrific experience.
Our trailer was getting a little ragged after 6 years of travel, sometimes for months at a time, with 3 small dogs. So we asked James and Teri with Ace of Spaces to give it a face lift. They replaced all of the carpet with a very attractive, and durable flooring; removed the old island in the kitchen and replaced it with a much larger one; replaced all of the window valances; replaced the countertops and back splashes with a very unique splash of color; replaced the kitchen table with a bar that we use for work and for dining; updated the master bedroom with some new lighting and a new headboard; modified the bathroom skylight to have a more modern feel and to block more of the desert sun; replaced the oven; and added a third air conditioner which has made a tremendous difference when camping in over 90 degree weather. They even repaired some of the exterior dents and dings and improved the way the trailer moves down the highway.
We gave James a long list of things to address on our first visit. We only had to tell him once - he addressed everything on our list, and even recommended a few other improvements (like improved lighting over the bar and some really nice bar stools) that turned out to make all the difference.
Working with James and Teri was a pleasure. They provided suggestions for colors and materials we would never have thought of. We gave them a free hand in the design and we could not be happier with the results.

James and Teri with Ace of Spades are very good at what they do. We brought them our 22 year old motorhome for renovations. Originally, the motorhome only had a sofa bed for our children. We asked them to build bunk beds and to update the VERY outdated decor. We gave them some general guidelines and requirements, which they met and exceeded. We allowed them to have artistic freedom and they completely nailed it. We were not able to do a total renovation but James and Teri blended the new with the old. It’s such a transformation. The bunk beds are perfect and adorable. The light fixtures are stunning. The custom curved table they built is as functional as it is beautiful. The new headboard in the master bedroom is sexy and modern. The custom window coverings and valances are sleek. The captains chairs were rebuilt with new foam and new coverings and they are so comfortable. You can’t go wrong with Ace of Spades. They really go the extra mile and care very much about the work they do. I am already planning and saving for some other renovations on the motorhome and I will definitely be going back to James and Teri.
